Even before I started I Ride In Style, before retirement, I was designing kits. For example, the Dutch national team kit worn at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics. Apart from design on a computer, I have been sewing since I was a little girl. Spending hours and hours on a bike spinning my legs, I found the perfect balance in working with my hands to create something unique. After spending so much time in the cycling world, one of the most useful tools I found I could create myself was the musette bag. When I started I Ride In Style I included not only unique cycling clothing styled from inspiration I have found in my own life, but also musette, crossbody, and tote style bags made mostly of leather.
Moving into my second year of I Ride In Style, I am taking another direction when it comes to my bags. I believe in one-of-a-kind designs. Making custom bags for friends and teammates has always been a passion of mine. So, that’s what I am going to do. Instead of stocking my online store with bags, I am giving you the option of having a completely one of a kind bag, made by me! Need an extra pocket for your laptop? I can do that. How do you feel about pockets for maximum organization?I can do that too. Say you see a bag online that you like but it’s missing an extra strap to be able to ride with it, send me the picture and what you’d like and I can make that for you. With so much mass production in our world, I am pleased to be able to offer you completely unique bags, for whatever you need. If possible, I give used leather a second life.
I am looking forward to what people come up with and the challenge of making other peoples visions come to life. Thank you for following me on my journey, and don’t forget to Ride In Style!
